About Me
I'm Oliver Faris — a high school senior from Los Altos who builds circuits, writes code, and makes films. I don't think those things are as different as people assume.
My story
I got into engineering at 13 when I took apart a broken speaker to see how it worked. I never put it back together — but I built a better one from scratch. That curiosity has driven every project since.
Filmmaking came later. I picked up a camera during quarantine and realized that storytelling and engineering share the same core skill: you have a problem, you have constraints, and you have to make something that works.
I'm applying to study Computer Science and Engineering, with a minor in Film. I want to build tools that help storytellers — and tell stories about the people who build things.
